Salzburg, City of Mozart

Your visit to the city of Mozart

It is virtually impossible to capture the beauty and magic of Salzburg City in just a few words. The wealth of history, architecture, cultural life and attractive tourism attractions is quite beyond compare.

There are many beautiful places in this world of ours – and Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart, is definitely one of them.

In September 1997, the Salzburg historic district was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It enjoys an extraordinary reputation in all corners of the globe and has done so for several centuries. If you stroll along the banks of the Salzach and gaze out at the churches, domes and towers of the Old City as well as Hohensalzburg Fortress, you will immediately understand the fascination of this delightful place. Quaint backstreets, cobblestones, fountains, freshly painted building facades – where culture, architecture, music and history are impressively united.

In every season, Salzburg radiates a very special charm. In spring and summer, the green city literally bourgeons with life and vibrancy, the people spill out onto the streets, enjoying long evenings and interesting discussions. In autumn, the leaves of the plane trees next to the Salzach turn iridescent gold, the air fresh and clear. The temperatures drop. At the same time, the coziness of the beautiful coffeehouses increases markedly. Then, the winter spreads its own extraordinary magic over the city. White snowflakes, dark evenings and bright lights warm our spirits and turn thoughts towards the reflective Christmas season ahead.

No matter what season you decide to come to Salzburg: Your visit will always be rewarding.
